About DoubleView House
DoubleView is a brand-new house on a hilltop overlooking the spectacular Atlantic and Caribbean waters of Eleuthera. The house was constructed in 2005.
The interior finishes are first-quality. The house has stone floors throughout, the kitchen countertops are polished riverstone, and the bathrooms have marble sinks, teak vanities, and riverstone shower surrounds. The furnishing are comfortable and tasteful. The large deck is arranged as an outdoor living space, with dining table, lounge chairs, propane grill, and occasional seating.
Virtually everything in the house, from appliances to linens to dishes and glassware, is also brand new. We furnished the house to the level of comfort that we would want in our own home... after all, it is our home away from home. We hope you will be as comfortable there as we are, when you are our guests.

Amenities
The house has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed; the other has two twins which can converted to one king (the conversion kit is in the closet). The sofa in the great room opens to a double bed. The house is perfect for two couples, or for one couple with two children who can share a room. Technically, it could sleep six, but it would be pretty cozy.
Yes, easily. There are several beaches in the Rainbow Bay development where DoubleView is located. Two are a short distance (5-10 minute walk), although Smuggler's Beach requires a bit of a climb down a rocky trail. Two more are approximately one mile from the house. Rainbow Beach, a lovely calm cove with good swimming and snorkeling, is visible from the deck of Doubleview. It is maintained by the community, and has a few shaded picnic tables.
There are many, many more beaches along Eleuthera's 200+ miles of coastline, that you would need a car to get to. They are worth the trip! It is not at all unusual to be the only human beings on an Eleuthera beach, in fact, to have yours be the only human footprints visible in the sand.
Realistically, if you want to enjoy all Eleuthera has to offer, yes you do. While you can walk to the beach, and even to a nice restaurant/bar, there is no grocery store within walking distance. If you really wanted to do it without a car, you could have the taxi stop at a grocery store on your way from the airport, and spend all your time at the house or nearby beaches. But that misses the fun of exploring this beautiful island!

Alas, DoubleView has a no-pets policy. But you will find that the local canine population (known in Bahamian slang as "potcakes") is very friendly, and a few of the neighbors' dogs will be happy to come visit you on the deck if you want them to. If you'd rather not have their company, a sternly-spoken "no" or "go" will send them back home.
